By Andreas Nieden. By Andreas Nieden. Arranged by Andreas Nieden. Baroque,Contemporary. Individual part. 15 pages. Andreas Nieden #762952. Published by Andreas Nieden (A0.1162579).

This is an expansive toccata and fugue in F major in neo-baroque style. I composed it under the impression of the organ works of Bach, Buxtehude and Johann Peter Kellner.

This work was composed for Reformation Day, so it has the melody of the chorale "Ein feste Burg" as its pivot.
Since harmonies became more colourful after the Baroque period, I have included a lot of chromaticism in this work.

This piece is technically extremely demanding, both the manual part and the pedal, which is treated as an absolutely equal voice.
The voices are very dense, so that they are not all perceptible at first hearing. The decisive thing in playing is that the result is something like the one in my recording. It is not necessary to play all the voices, or the spacing of the voices in the right hand can be made more tangible by using the respective octaves.

I have attached a musical example in which I play the composition on the organ of the Petrikirche in Erfurt (Thuringia).
