Published by John Carbon (A0.1131185).Composed in 1999, revised in 2022, John Carbon's Piano Concerto was written for pianist William Koseluk and the Czech Radio Orchestra's historic first American tour. The premieres were in Boston's Symphony Hall and Prague's Smetana Hall. The recording has been released on the MMC and Convivium labels. The work is in one movement with several cadenzas and it showcases both the pianist and orchestra. Like most of Carbon's music the score is melodically rich with an appealing blend of tonal and atonal harmonic material that is fused into a compelling language that appeals to a wide variety of audiences.
