The piece is dedicated to the composer's two nieces who came from Mexico to be baptized at a small church near her home in the Ecuadorian highlands. This work will give young musicians practice with lyrical playing and expressive dynamics, all within a piece in D major that falls very easily on young musicians' fingers.
