From here, the verse and chorus melodies sound on top of chorale-like accompaniment figures, further elaborated by a modulation to the dominant (V), and a common-tone modulation to the chromatic submediant (VI). The arrangement's third and final act is treated with a parallel key modulation, offering a darker and somewhat baroque exploration of the verse and outro melodies. Lastly, a Picardy cadence provides a tongue-in-cheek, yet stylistically appropriate ending to this final act.
