However the reading ability and technique required to ‘wild’ them are exactly the same as if they were of a classical persuasion. At times those wonderful initial studies by Sor, Giuliani and Carcassi may need to be shared with a contemporary alternative. I’ve watched pupils blast an open string chord, shake the guitar for reverb and echo, smile and bathe in that sudden power of finding their ‘wild.’ My hope and remit is that you bond, enjoy and find a new freedom in these pieces.
