Composed by Alan Edgar (music), Sue Spivey (verses). Romantic Period. Score. 9 pages. Published by Alan Edgar Ted Moon (S0.213941).

A moving setting of poetry by Sue Spivey, reminding us of the fight for freedom on many fronts.  Some verses are spoken. Conventional extended poignant harmony.  Composed for the centenary vigil in France for the Battle of Oppy Wood, May 3rd, 1917, so tragic for Hull families in particular, also to celebrate the liberation of Holland at the end of WW2.  Also to be sung in Hull on that day but previously premiered in East Yorkshire by the Hunsley Singers under Marie Routledge.    Also available in a slightly different accompanied form for SSA, SSAB, and SATB.  It would also work as a soprano solo.
