As the other two reviewers stated, the arrangements are pointlessly difficult and not suitable for either beginner or advanced difficulties.

I am an advanced classical guitarist, I bought this book because I wanted some more advanced sounding music to play for weddings. I was extremely disappointed with this book as there are no decent arrangements at all. The pieces jump around the neck in a absolutely ridiculous manner. This is...

supposed to be gig music. These pieces are not worthy of concert or competition play, they should be playable and fairly sight readable for an advanced guitarist. Overall poorly written.

  • October 19, 2007 Badly thought out arrangements

I am very disappointed with this book. I bought this for "Here Comes The Bride" by Wagner and Mendelssohn's Wedding March, but find the arrangements jump about the neck in an unnecessary manner. In the very first line of music in the third bar can anybody but Christopher Boydston...

himself explain why the fingering recommends you change fingers when playing 2 consecutive d's? This sets the tone for the rest of the book. The only piece which is sensibly written out is (surprise surprise) Boydston's own piece Prelude#1. There are easier to play arrangements of Kemp's Jig and Jesu Joy Of Man's Desiring available.
