Approved and endorsed by the band, these authentic editions of Tower of Power's biggest hits feature scores and parts transcribed exactly as played by the band. They include parts for a ten-piece band, with optional parts for alto sax and trombone so band directors can match their own instrumentation.

Both lead and background vocal parts are also included, as are rhythm parts in two formats: a master rhythm part, plus the “essence of the groove,” featuring drum parts transcribed by master funk drummer David Garibaldi! Watch for more titles coming soon!

Here is is, and it's been done right. It's in the original key, which is the ONLY way it should be...no remedial simplification at all. It's Tower's actual chart and that one-and-only sound right here!

    Difficulty Level:
  • April 09, 2007 Tower of Power IS hip!

The chart for "What is Hip?" by the legendary Tower of Power is beautifully done. This is not a beginners chart, though, because concert key is "E" and the transpositions for horns are "F#" and "C#" for alto and baritone saxes. The parts are big and easy to read (visually...

, the music reading ability s up to you). Included are 5 master rhythm charts, score and additional parts for alto which doubles tenor #1 and trombone which is tenor #2. All told, there are the rhythm parts mentioned above, 2-trumpet parts, 2-tenor and a baritone sax part.
