Clifford Petty on his album We Are Filled with Joy! Holland has written a compelling piece that is sure to stay in your mind and heart after you hear it. A unique feature is the SATB verses of Psalm 23, sung in a quasi-chant style, which can be shaped by the director. As the verses repeat the phrase "He restores my soul," the music reaches the intensity that leads back to the refrain while it modulates up a half-step. This can be sung in a simple presentation, or it may be the vehicle for a skilled singer who can improvise as the Spirit leads! This is M. Roger Holland's first published octavo with WLP, with more sure to follow.
