  • April 30, 2011 Chopin - The First Book for Pianists - Book/CD

This is a great book for those who love Chopin but thought his pieces would be too hard to play. These pieces are his easier works, not edited, and easier to play than the typical Chopin piece. They sound lovely because they are as they were written. The CD is...

also very helpful to be able to hear how they might be played.

  • March 14, 2009 I'm hooked

Buy this book and CD. You won't regret it. The selections in this book are not difficult. I studied piano for 10 years as a child. For 25 years, I didn't own a piano so I didn't play. I finally own a piano, so to help me...

pick up where I left off I bought this book & a few other books. I practiced the pieces and took piano lessons from a concert pianist. I listened to the CD, took direction from my teacher and made notations on the pages. Many people listened to me when I played selections from the book. My teacher, my brother (an accomplished pianist), my husband and others expressed that it sounded wonderful. Buy this book and you'll be hooked too!

My daughter asked for a book of Chopin piano music on her Christmas list. It is perfect for her for where she is in her progress on the piano. She is really enjoying it.

  • May 22, 2008 Back at the Piano Again

This book has been a joy for me. I have severe deformities in both hands (worse in the left) due to rheumatoid arthritis, and consequently my beautiful Yamaha baby grand had become nothing more than a piece of furniture - I thought I would never be able to play again - the...

First Book for Pianists has been a life-saver - I have been sitting down at the piano every day and find that these simple pieces, while easy to play are not "simplified" but the real thing presented the way the composer wrote them - that makes all the difference. I feel that I'm actually playing what was in the composer's heart and soul when he wrote them. Although the fingering is of necessity my own invention the pleasure I have derived from this book is a blessing - I intend to buy more of the same by other composers. Thanks for making them available. By the way, the inclusion of the CD is an excellent way to improve your skills. =
