The delayed entry parts call for careful, metrical timing, yet the motif is repeated enough so progress and success can be quickly attained. Parts are kept in reasonable range with the top part only entering the middle upper register (high G at the end) while the fourth part is rhythmically simple and in the low register, yet never below low D. Performance time is right at two minutes and there are many opportunities for very expressive playing and lyrical, emotive development.
