One very tiny pop in space resulted in one very big bang that created a vast amount of energy from which life eventually sprang. The Big Bang also starts with that, a big bang! The music then begins its journey through timbre andtone colours, starts developing melodies, complementing rhythms, and interesting chords that all represent the creation of something new. Strong dissonances hint at the turmoil that existed, while moments of beauty signify balance arriving at variousparts of the universe. These contrasting events create a very engaging and exciting musical montage of The Big Bang and what happened next.

'Big Bang': een oerknal veroorzaakt een gigantische energie waaruit zich het leven vormt. Met zo'n soort oerknal begint ook het gelijknamige werk van Bert Appermont. De muziek zoekt zich een weg door klankvelden. Er ontwikkelen zichmelodieen en er komen aanvullende ritmes en akkoorden tevoorschijn. Het zijn verbeeldingen van het ontstaan van het universum. Verderop horen we echter ook dissonanten. Ze maken toespelingen op de onvolmaaktheid van de schepping.Maar ook momenten van absolute schoonheid weerklinken. Gezamenlijk creeren ze een spannend muzikaal beeld van de oerknal en de gevolgen ervan.

Aus einem Urknall - einem Big Bang - manifestierte sich eine riesige Energie, aus der Leben ensteht. Mit einer Art Urknall beginnt das Werk The Big Bang. Danach sucht die Melodie gleichsam ihren Weg durch Klangfelder, sich entwickelndeMelodien, komplementare Rhythmen und ubereinander geschichtete Akkorden- Bilder, die fur die Entstehnung von etwas Neuem stehen. Im weiteren Verlauf spielen Dissonazen auf die Unvollkommenheit der Schopfung an. aber auch Momente absoluter Schonheiterklingen und schaffen insgesamt ein spannungsreiches musikalisches Bild eines Urknalls und seine Folgen.

Au debut, tout n'est qu'energie. L'espace entre dans une violente expansion. Puis, les etoiles, les galaxies, le Soleil, la Terre et la Vie apparaissent. L'oeuvre de Bert Appermont, The Big Bang, debute elle aussi parune formidable explosion. Puis la musique cherche son chemin a travers un champ sonore bouillonnant. Peu a peu, les lignes melodiques evoluent, les phrases rythmiques s'articulent, les accords se construisent pour donner, enfin, unevision agreable d'un monde nouveau. Quelques dissonances resonnent encore dans le jeu ca et la, faisant allusion aux imperfections de la creation, mais notre univers se fait l'echo d'un monde d'une beaute absolue,passionnante, vivante.
