For graduates of Level 3A, Level 3B is 98 pages with 24 compositions and corresponding theory sheets. Level 3B completes our concentrated study of treble clef notes by teaching up to leger note B above the treble staff. Some of the many concepts taught in Level 3B include: 6/8 compound rhythm; root position chords and inversions; melodic interval studies; parallel motion; mastering 8va hand movement; sonata form; broken chords; whole/half steps; 6/4 time signature; and key signatures. Major and harmonic minor scales/cadences and a glossary are included at the beginning of the book. The Finish Line test at the end of the book is comparable to the state of Texas Level 3 theory examination. Students should easily pass the Finish Line examination before advancing to the Level 4 student books.
