LeGrand This symphony is in three movements and is scored for full symphony orchestra. The first movement calls for a double string orchestra, which is created by division between the desks like in the Williams "Fantasia on a Theme of Thomas Tallis". The first movement introduces a sense of perfection and order, and it's subsequent iniquity. The rest of the Symphony is a portrayal of its atonement and the longing for perfection. The second movement is scored for Strings and Harp, and a solo French Horn. The French Horn plays the first movement principle theme at one point, connecting the movements. The final movement is an arrangement of Luther's "Ein Feste Burg" (A Mighty Fortress).
