Composed by Renee Allsbrook. Patriotic,Pop. Score and parts. 17 pages. Renee Allsbrook Music #50015. Published by Renee Allsbrook Music (A0.915823).

Inspired by the true story of the Lost Boys of Sudan (specifically "Lost Boy No More" by Abraham Nhial), Sweet America tells the story of a boy whose village is destroyed, so he and his friends escape to a refugee camp. He is then chosen to come to America after a time. In the chorus, he exhorts Americans not to take the "precious gift of freedom in your hand" for granted, but to "stay awake, for there's a shadow that would steal it from your land," referring to ISIS as well as to the cloud of moral decay that would drown America's strong voice of liberty and health in the world. (See YouTube link for complete song with lyrics.) The PDF includes the vocal and violin parts in the key of B Minor as well as G Minor (as recorded).
