One of Schubert’s most beloved chamber works, the Sonata in A Minor was composed for a short-lived instrument in the gamba family (the arpeggione – bowed and fretted, with six strings). The present edition combines Zuill Bailey’s cello adaptation of the arpeggione part, with Bailey’s expert fingerings and bowings, and David Leisner’s masterful guitar arrangement of the piano part. The arrangement was created for extensive tours by the two artists; their recording is available on the Azica label. Listen to their performance on Soundcloud.
