As the recent "General Instruction of the Roman Missal" has reminded us, the singing of psalms with their proper antiphons during the processions of the Mass is an ancient and current practice of the Church. Here is a collection of simple and beautiful settings in English of Advent and Christmas texts from the "Graduale Simplex" and "Graduale Romanum." The modal melodies can be sung in a variety of ways with limited or abundant resources from a single cantor to a full choir, accompanied or a cappella.
