Wave Old Glory proudly with this rousing, entertaining and very lively tuba quartet. This arrangement is for FOUR TUBAS (not the usual "tuba quartet" which otherwise uses two euphoniums and two tubas). This carefully crafted arrangement uses familiar melodies from Sousa's "Stars and Stripes Forever" and blends them with "Beer Barrel Polka" (a.k.a. "Roll Out the Barrel"). Arranged by a tuba player, efforts have been made to make this attainable by four good high school level players (or better). Ossia (optional) notes have been included when range considerations merit it. Arranging for four tubas is very difficult as tuba "chords" tend to sound like a tub of mud- but when carefully voiced here, they can speak very nicely. The top two parts range up to high Bb and C (top bass clef space and one ledger line, respectively) but ossia notes are always included. The bottom part (part four) ranges down to low (contra) Eb but ossia notes make this attainable by the traditional three valve instrument. So let's get going, tubas! Who said tubas can't be patriotic?
