SKU: A0.758974

Composed by Bedrich Smetana. Arranged by Timothy J. Olt. Romantic Period. 46 pages. Olt Music #2894517. Published by Olt Music (A0.758974).

Although the Bartered Bride might not be performed often now, the Polka from Act 1 is still near and dear to the hearts of music lovers. This staple of the orchestral pops repertoire translates into a fun and challenging work for sax ensemble.

This work is scored for an unusual instrumentation for a sax ensemble. The work calls for 2 soprano, 2 alto, 2 tenor and 2 baritone saxes, but is actually divided into 2 sax quartets. This is to allow for use as a side-by-side work for student and professional ensembles.

There are also percussion parts.  Although they may be considered optional, the timpani part is very important.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard’s global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
