Composed by traditional tune, composer unknown. Arranged by Ray Kamada. Celtic,Folk,Wedding,World. Score and parts. 14 pages. The Lone Arranger #3056699. Published by The Lone Arranger (A0.757313).

The Old John's part of this arrangement seems simple but is written quadraphonically. So, each 8 bar stanza is meant to be played 8 times (including repeats), each instrument playing its own lead melody at forte while others play softly. Swallowtail is written as a theme and variations. Again, each voice leads a passage. The next to last section is again fully polyphonic. The easy full or half-open string, double stops help build to a climax. This and the overall balance yields an arrangement satisfying to both players and audience. Two sheets per instrument (no page turns) yet stretching to fill 6 minutes makes it great for gigs. For mixed quartets, flute or oboe can sub for 1st violin and bassoon for cello.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard’s global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
