Composed by Stefano Puri. Contemporary,Sacred. Octavo. 13 pages. Stefano Puri #29607. Published by Stefano Puri (A0.1003214).

O SACRUM CONVIVIUM is a monumental motet for vocal quartet (Soprano, Alto, Tenor & Baritone) and large unaccompanied choir (SSSAATTBBB) with a Soprano solo, far away in a balcony (or crypt, or chapel). The piece starts with inner and mysterious harmonies, then explodes in a solemn "alleluia". The closing is a complex composition of mysterious and aleatory melodies. The central part (Alleluia) is a mensural canon on the theme of "By this river" (by Brian Eno). The piece is dedicated to the memory of Sir John Tavener.
