This is an excellent piano course. This book A, along with the Activies A and Solo A books, gives the beginner a good foundation in theory and teaching a wide range of piano keys. The student is able to be a good sight reader with the skills taught.

This method provides a core set of activities that all students need. Thus, it provides the minimum work that all students need, leaving the teacher with sufficient lesson time to include individualized repertoire personalized to the needs and interests of the student. Using such repertoire is important to the succes...

of this course. The course provides a wide reading range quickly, and work in all keys is developed in level B, so the student is well-prepared for just about any piece the student or teacher wishes to use at each level. Don't misjudge this course based on the pieces alone. The authors didn't intend for the course books to provide for the child's only performance material

  • November 04, 2007 Great Beginning Piano Method

I have used this Method for over 25 years. It always produces great results and great sight readers. Kids are at ease playing in any register--not just thumbs on middle c! This is not for the young beginner. I find the ideal age is 8.

This is a great book, to be used with Activities and Solos (Product #'s: O5105 and O5106). I used it when I began taking lessons, and I've used it with all of my beginning students. It's a lot better than books that have lots of colorful pictures, so...

it's great for older students. It's a great introduction to reading music and playing. Highly reccommended!!

  • August 01, 2006 Great Pedagogy for Older Students

For older students who don't like a lot of pictures, this course presents a solid development of reading skills and multikey work. The first book covers a 37-note reading range, giving the student access to a wide range of supplements. You'll need those supplements with this course...

. The course provides a foundation and leaves the performance material up to the teacher.
