To celebrate the new millennium, pianist Jeffrey Biegel coordinated a consortium of 27 orchestras to co-commission a new concerto from Ellen Zwilich. The resulting MILLENNIUM FANTASY in two movements uses references to a turn-of-the-century folksong as a springboard, recognizing a song the composer’s grandmother used to sing to her.
