A superb choral work by Paul from his CD and music collection "Rejoice!" (WL.008225, WL.008236). The masterful use of repeated notes in the refrain creates a restful, calming, and peaceful mood as we pray as Jesus did in the seventeenth chapter of John's Gospel, "May we and God be one." The verses begin in the relative minor and develop harmonically with an intriguing brief diversion in tonality, beseeching the Father and Son to be our protector and soul's guardian. Paul at his best!
