Composed by Horace J. Scruggs, III. 20th Century,Christian,Easter,Romantic Period,Sacred. Octavo. 12 pages. Horace Scruggs #2017811. Published by Horace Scruggs (A0.876207).

Lux Aeterna (Concert/Festival) Latin and English text interweave in this setting that your pianist will love to play as much as your singers will love to sing. The vocal lines in this work are simple but create lush and complex timbres. The opening chords are full of dissonances but resolve to beautiful seventh chords. The next section is supported by strong piano chords and lines supporting subtle shifts in tonality. One section flows into the next with a layered refrain "You’re the Light that shines eternal, shine on us now". This is a wonderful understated work. Medium Difficult – SATB accompanied.
