Brad Bombardiere has the right idea..start with simple semantics then add more layers of difficulty. Since no one can duplicate SRV, use this book to develope an excellent playing technique; this book when used in this way will help one play a satisfactory version of SRV's songs. There...

can transcription mistakes in most books, but this one is highly accurate; for what the book does miss, the ear can compensate. I would encourage players at all levels to buy this book--trailblazing developes good guitarists. This book is a great primer for "In Step". Yes,they do get more difficult as SRV's playing matured to fullness. In short, buy this book, "The Sky is Cryin'" and "In Step" and you will have a lifetime of challenging study.

expect to master his stuff in a hurry, although some tunes are easier than others. Still, highly recommend it for authenticity. Great stuff!
