Published by Aaron Alter (S0.95675).Submitted for 2015 Areon Flutes International Chamber Music Composition Competition.La Joie de Vivre - Version 2 for flute, violoncello, electric guitar, double-bass (or electric bass) and drums was inspired by the painting of the same name by PIcasso. That painting shows a Mediterranean scene with mythological figures, such as satyrs and a centaur and a nude woman playing music and dancing. It is a bit of a chameleon. The music begins in a modal jazz style, but later evolves into folk-rock, blues-rock and finally ends with a folk dance, all of which evoke the spirit of the Picasso painting. "La Joie de Vivre" was completed on August 23, 2015 and the duration is about 6 1/2 minutes long. Because the work has not been premiered yet, the audio sample is a digital simulation from Sibelius software. The work is listed with BMI.
