(Level III) L' Homard Bleu's is a perfect choice for a high school big band who wants to focus on an exciting, riff based, medium Bb blues. Written in the Count Basie Orchestra style, it features both tenor players, along with trombone, although anyone can solo on this very flexible chart. The guitar player has specific instructions on how to propel the band forward with a Freddie Green style. The climax featuring both tenor saxophonists, as they solo back and forth from one another. The Cobequid Educational Center Jazz Ensemble in Turo, Nova Scotia, Canada commissioned this chart. No doubles. 7 Brass.
