Published by Nigel Williams (S0.132019).The English folk tune 'Kingsfold' is sung to a variety of texts which means this music will have wide appeal. This solo organ piece is extracted from a cantata which I was commissioned to write for a Baptist community in Rhode Island in 2013. The cantata is scored for mixed voice choir, organ and string orchestra, an alternative version for choir and organ is also available on SMP. In this version for organ solo, the chorale and first variation are manuals only. The digital audio clip is the 'Maestoso' second variation (manuals and pedals) and is intermediate in difficulty level. The Chorale and Variations can be played individually or as a set, they are ideal as a prelude, postlude, voluntary or as a recital piece. The full score is four pages.
