The text's sentiment of finishing a journey isespecially suitable for choir tours but also represents an emotionaljourney through darkness and light. The repeating phrase "carpeviam" encourages the audience to 'seize the road' and make their ownjourneys of discovery. The 2 minute piece has the option to begin with a solo,and also offers the option of a clarinet counter-melody which adds anotherlayer of interest to the folk-like melody that is passed around each part.
It is easilyrehearsed and is suitable for choirs aged 11yrs+ and adult women's voicesand was commissioned for a choir tour to Prague in 2011.
