very easy and not challenging enough. all the parts are similar top and bottom, maybe harmonized but almost basically repetitive or done practically in unison. I have seen and played a lot of duets so much more challenging and tougher than these. Produced very cheaply, quick and slap stick. more...

for beginners, and should have said that so us advanced players didn't end up buying it and wasting our money!!

  • August 29, 2007 Not for the faint hearted

It all gets quite hairy fairly quickly. The CD is disappointing because it only has the sound of saxophones, ie no bass and drums, which would have made the pieces sound like proper songs and not simply instruments of torture for the novice saxophonist ! But my sax teacher loves it...

This title was requested by my son's instructor to keep him interested and challenged through his summer lessons. I think he has really enjoyed learning both parts of the duets and playing them with his instructor.

  • June 19, 2006 Good Fun

This book includes tunes that are relatively easy to play, but are still fun to listen to. I've also found that if you don't have anyone to play these tunes with, you can take a tape recorder and record the 2nd part. Then, go back and play the...

1st part on top of that. It's simple, but it works. This book is great fun.
