The Double Bass part is optional, but its inclusion is preferable in the case of a larger ensemble. The Violin 3 part is the same as Viola, with the exception of some octave displacement. Elementary level Violin players could be included in the ensemble by playing the Violin 3 part. Likewise, elementary level Cello players could use the Double Bass part.
