In The Bleak Mid-Winter , by John Joubert with words by Christina Rossetti (1830-1894), is for SA Chorus and Organ. The piece was commissioned by Nicholas Fisher for the choir of Merton College, Oxford, and for inclusion in the Merton Choirbook to celebrate the 750th anniversary of the founding of the college in 1264. The September 2015 issue of Sunday by Sunday from the Royal School of Church Music said that this "haunting setting...explores interesting tonalities".
