Hopewell Suite is a seven movement suite inspired by the composer's time spent at Hopewell Farm in South Africa. Each movement describes a different aspect of the farm:
1) Hopewell Way
2) Sentinel Trees
3) Hopewell Farmscapes
4) Hopewell Endurance
5) Hopewell Adventure
6) Hopewell Homestead
7) Flora and Fauna
Performance of the full suite may stretch to as long as thirty minutes in duration. Recorded duration is over twenty minutes.
The skill is what I would consider early college level. The piece features some rhythmic sections that are moderately difficult, but those sections all work together towards melodic and rhythmic cohesion.
In that sense, while this is a "modern" work, it is not hard on the ears. The movements are mostly melody based.
