Our small church choir purchased this anthem as a memorial to a member who recently passed away. We all love the music, and the arrangement, and are having no trouble learning it. Many thanks for excellent service.

  • September 03, 2008 Beautiful 4-part music

I love "Goin' Home" and was delighted to find it in 4-parts, so our chorus could sing it. It is fairly easy, yet stays true to the piece. When the piano carries the melody, it would be nice if that was written in for humming. You can look down...

to the piano score, but that is akward. Over all, great piece!

Going home is a good piece to play during an organ recital, as it will be a welcome break from unfamiliar pieces. It could be used very well as an encore too. I found the music layout to be very readable.

Goin Home was the perfect choice for the funeral of a longtime community member who operated a local greenhouse. Has several sections requiring SSAATTBB tho so requires a large group to cover all parts. Two churches combined their choirs in order to fill all the spots.
