The music of Glenn Miller is probably the most famous from the swing era. He was one of the best-selling recording artists from 1939 to 1942, leading one of the best known Big Bands. Miller's signature recordings include, In the Mood, Tuxedo Junction, Chattanooga Choo Choo, Moonlight Serenade, Little Brown Jug, and Pennsylvania 6-5000. While travelling to entertain U.S. troops in France during World War II, Miller's plane disappeared in bad weather. His body was never found.

I took a chance on this compilation, and I'm pleased with my purchase, so I'm glad for the opportunity to review this. It's essentially a grouping of 20 of some of Glenn Miller's greatest hits. They are primarily piano and vocal arrangements, with 3 staves: 2...

treble and 1 bass. I only saw one notation of a piece having a more modern arrangement, so I think these likely true to the time period. These are all from different composers. I purchased this along with "I'll Be Seeing You, 51 Songs of World War II." There is only one piece that is in both books - Don't Sit Under the Apple Tree. List: Moonlight Serenade, In the Mood, Sunrise Serenade, Chattanooga Choo-Choo, At Last, American Patrol, I Know Why, Elmer's Tune, Wonderful One, It Happened in Sun Valley, Hear My Song Violetta, Pennsylvania 6-5000, And the Angels Sing, King Porter Stomp, Don't Sit Under the Apple Tree, My Guy's Come Back, St. Louis Blues March, My Blue Heaven, Stairway to the Stars, Little Brown Jug.
