Composed by Charles Francois Gounod. Arranged by Ton van Grevenbroek. Full set. Duration 4.5 minutes. Molenaar Edition #013431060. Published by Molenaar Edition (ML.013431060).Funeral March of a Marionette was composed in 1872 as part of Charles Gonoud's Suite Burlesque for piano. This suite was intended as a parody of the music critic, Henry Chorley. When he had finished composing the piece, Gonoud decided to keep only the funeral march. This march has been recorded countless times, one of the first being with John Philip Sousa's famous band. The piece is most well known from its use as the theme music to the television program Alfred Hitchcock Presents.
