This facsimile of an original by Jean-Marie Leclair is part of our French classical music collection. Leclair - Fourth book of sonatas for violin with continuo bass - Violin flute continuo. Edition : Paris, l'Auteur, Boivin, Leclerc, 1743 (tirage : c. 1753). These four books represent the hightest archievement of the 18th-century french violin school. Some of the sonatas can be played on the traverse flute : sonatas 2 and 6 in Book I, sonatas 1, 3, 5, 8 and 11 in Book II, sonatas 2 and 7 in Book IV.
