Clifford Petty's "Feed Us, Lord" is a superb addition to the In Spirit and Truth series. Petty's talent as a gospel composer has reached new heights in this recent Eucharist setting. Series editor Thomas W. Jefferson performed his transcription of the piano part at the recording session on this notable track. The soulful solo verses lead to the four-part choral refrain with assembly. The bridge section makes use of staggered vocal entrances (S, A, B, T), and dramatically builds to the rousing final refrain. A must-hear recording!
