Escapades is a delightful and varied collection of programmatic pieces for the late elementary level. The pieces offer a wide variety of contemporary idioms, styles, and means of notation. They are suitable for recitals, study, and sight-reading.
Escapades was previously published in two volumes by Frederick Harris Music in 1997. The copyright was returned to the composer in 2015. This title was subsequently republished in one volume by Highgate Press, a division of ECS Publishing, later that year. Frederick Harris Music retained the copyrights to two of the movements: The Mouse in the Grandfather Clock (Book 1), and Jazzbery Jump (Book 2). The remaining 22 Escapades appear in ECS Publishing's single volume.
