Nice simplified arrangement for intermediate students who wish to play this familiar Rachmaninoff favorite.

I listened to the original just after receiving edition. Unless I'm wrong it sounds like it should be in D-flat Maj. I am transposing 1/2 step down as I learn it. Some parts beautiful, some parts just ok

Just a word of warning that this arrangement will disappoint players beyond the intermediate level.

  • February 20, 2003 Beautiful composition for the Intermed.

This is a lovely romantic piece written in D Maj and is one of my personal favorites. Concerning difficulty, it is for the late beginner to mid-intermediate. It was most likely described as "upper-intermediate" due to its somewhat awkward key shift in the last 10 measures which includes...

several accidental. I think most brave beginners (3-4 year students) will be able to learn this part with time. The remaining song is simply composed of a broken D cord for the left hand, as well as, a one or two note melody. The dynamics are--well--dynamic, and vary from "pp" to "f" throughout the song. Highly recommended! :)
