Published by Ralph Raymond Hays (A0.720390).This Divertimento is a four movement suite written originally for B-flat Clarinet Quartet (SSSB) commissioned by the Sunshine Quartet of Orlando, Florida. The movements, I. Appassionata, II. Giocoso, III. Tranquillo, and IV. Scherzando embody a variety of styles from Romantic to 21st Century, and incorporate such elements as, chromaticism, asymmetric meter, theme and variations, and imitative counterpoint. The attached recording and video link are of a stellar performance by the commissioning ensemble which projects brilliantly the work's warmth, complexity, and humor.
