Having this in mind I havechosen to develop at once, beside the main verses of the Psalm "De Profundis"(130) the first verse of the "Magnificat" (Lc. 1:47). Heartbreaking cry ofsupplication the first one, Ecstatic shout of joy the second one, both conveystogether, little by little, more and more, until to become a profound sole expressionof faith and gratitude: ‘De Profundis, Magnificat!’, 'Out of the deep, my soulmagnifies the Lord!’, Out of the deep, my soul magnifies YOU, my Lord!The avant premiere of DE PROFUNDIS MAGNIFICAT took place on June 4th 2005 at the Cathedral of Berlin by the Berliner Domkantorei.
