Composed by Franz Schubert. Arranged by Brandon S Killen. Romantic Period,Standards. Score and part. 5 pages. Brandon S Killen #2857065. Published by Brandon S Killen (A0.1031048).

This arrangement of Schubert's famous song makes careful use of original sources to convey the articulation and phrasing of the original vocals. Great for early intermediate players looking for accessible classical repertoire.

Inspired by a set of poems by German poet Wilhelm Müller, Franz Schubert wrote and published the song cycle Die schöne Müllerin (The Lovely Maid of the Mill) in 1824. "Das Wandern," the first song of the cycle, is a cheerful, optimistic song that captures the spirit of youth. Simple harmonic movement, the unsettled energy of the piano accompaniment, and the spritely leaps of the melody all serve to convey a sense of restless wanderlust.
