A lovely, popular concerto full of melody and gorgeous orchestration, especially notable for its beautiful use of woodwinds to complement the piano. Really one of Mozart's absolute finest achievements, it has been eternally popular since its publication a Conductor: Nayden Todorov. Soloist: Martin Stambalov, piano. The intonation of the orchestra in the Adagio movement is beyond dreadful. I would have expected more from a professional orchestra. Tempi are unsteady and the overall feel is heavy and dull. Despite this, it is a fun way to practice until you get your own orchestra.

  • August 26, 2008 Mozart's Genius Meets Music Minus One's Convenience

If you've seen the movie, The New World, you know how beautiful this piano concerto by Mozart is. But to play that concerto with a real orchestra is even more fun than listening to it. The sheet music provided is of good quality, and the two recordings that accompany...

the sheet music, are quite good. The only difficulty I had in playing along was matching my tempo with the orchestra. When my piano part begins the movement and the orchestra comes in later, the orchestra starts to play before I finish my solo part. The orchestra on the CDs is not playing at a precise tempo in some parts of the recording. However, this small disadvantage is outweighed by the many advantages, and I will continue to purchase Music Minus One recordings from Sheet Music Plus.

I’m very satisfied by the CD. The orchestre is doing well and the recordings are clear. In contrary of another review I do like the tempi of all parts. It has to be fast in the last movement. My only remark: please do lower the dots beginning movements 2...

and 4. With a special program I did it myself. But overall a good product!
