Average duation:17'42''Chinese Zodiac, is a traditional Chinese culture. Zodica means 12 animals. Each animal represents a year. And these animals are meant to match a person's birth year, such as the year of monkey, the year of sheep, the year of tiger and so on. 12 years is a turn. The piece is in 15 sections: 1.Prelude; 2.Mouse(Rat); 3.Ox; 4.Tiger; 5.Rabbit; 6.Dragon; 7.Snake; 8.Intermezzo-Little Tadpoles looking for their mother; 9.Horse; 10.Sheep(Goat); 101.Monkey; 12.Rooster; 13.Dog; 14.Pig; 15.Finale.The intermezzo(mvt8)is also based on a fairy tale in China. The story tells that some tadpoles got lost from their mother(a frog), but they consider her to be in the same appearance with them, so they find many animals in shapes similar to tadpoles but they still cannot find their frog mama. Finally the frog mama came back and said to them:"You are going to be frogs in the future, not big tadpoles." The melody of this mvt is also based on the background music on that old kid story tape.
