Sforza old (S0.135323).Cabbage Marathon is a set of bowing variations on the well-known fiddle tune Bile 'em Cabbage Down. Each variation uses one of the basic bowing patterns often taught to beginning string players. The melody only uses the first four notes of the scale and allows the student to focus their attention on their bow strokes and tone. The piano part greatly enhances each section with a constant change of character, mood, and harmonic background.
Included are piano scores and individual parts for violin, viola, cello, and an optional version for violin in D Major.
