    Difficulty Level:
  • May 06, 2008 Good arrangements of best-known themes

Best known songs from a wide range of Vangelis's career are arranged quite well, perhaps on the easier side of intermediate. The arrangements are occasionally repetitious, but some of the original versions have this quality, too. I'll admit I bought this primarily for a long-time favorite from...

"Bladerunner", "Memories of Green" and was impressed by the accuracy and beauty of the arrangement.

Overall a must-own for fans of Vangelis. Published in Italy. Arrangements of Alpha and Memories of Green are downright excellent, accurate and lots of fun to play. Hymn (Hymne) is a completely different arrangement than the Sheet Music magazine version from 1987 (my personal favorite) or the individually published...

version. Haven't conquered the whole book yet, so there's lots to dig into here. I only wish that they had published the "Theme from Cosmos" from Heaven and Hell. Can't figure out why that has not made it to sheet music yet and am dying to get a hold of a version. A must-buy though if you're tired of only seeing Chariots of Fire books for Vangelis out there on the market!
