'''Be My Hands and Feet' is a response to the words and deeds of the Risen Christ, connecting language of the resurrection with the demands of discipleship. It would be appropriate throughout the Easter season. . . . It would also be appropriate whenever images of mission, ministry and discipleship appear in the Lectionary readings throughout Ordinary Time. —Tony Alonso This is a piece that will have many opportunities for use throughout the year, as indicated in the composer’s notes. There are several appropriate places in the liturgy for this text, the refrain is ideal for quick memorization, making it attractive for use during the Communion processional. The optional bridge, with its contrapuntal cries of “Alleluia,” provides a nice contrast to the mostly homophonic texture of the verses.
