This is the third in my series of beautiful settings by Colin Britt of an EdnaSt. Vincent Millay poem. I believe that Colin has a very special way ofcapturing the unique atmosphere of each poem he sets. His voicing isalways exquisite and his control of tension and relaxation enriches thedelicate nuances in the poetic lines. Observation of Colin's markingsempre rubato is important to heighten the effect of a poet developingimages as the poem unfolds and to encourage a sense of spontaneity andreflection.
